Mr Seru Virokanu – Former Advisor to Nipake Edward Natapei

Tuesday 20 November 2012, 3:00 – 4:00pm

Lecture Theatre 2, Hedley Bull Centre (130), Garran Road, ANU

In this seminar, Seru Virokanu – formerly a political advisor during the Natapei Government – will discuss Vanuatu’s recent election, the country’s 10th since 1979. He will look at the political process in Vanuatu’s elections: from elections through to government formation and election of the next Prime Minister. Mr Virokanu will also analyse the election results, focusing on significant trends, including voting patterns, and the likely fragmented Parliament comprising 52 Members from a large number of political parties/groupings. In this context he will also discuss the political outlook for Vanuatu over the next four years.
