###########################################

My name is Philippe Saibir Pako-Tenene. I am 50 yrs old. My Mother is mixed New Caledonian /Loyalty Islands (Mare/Erakor) , My Father is from the Highlands of Shefa Province (Tongo) Vanuatu & I also have Malaitan / Solomon Islands blood. My Great Grand Father was taken to Australia as part of what was called Black Birding he worked in the Sugar Cane/Cotton fields of Queensland and Northern NSW and was deported back to Melanesia in 1906.

I speak Na Makur (Makuraan) a Vanuatu-Melanesian indigenous language. I also speak kanamang, Bislama (Pijin English/French); French & English. These common languages are a very useful tool for me, in order to communicate within and outside Melanesia.

This Multimedia access I created for Melanesia is an awareness….for the WORLD to know that We Melanesians  exist … that we have been rich in custom, culture, and family tradition for these past 40.000+ years (Originaly we come from Africa, travelled via India,Asia and to our New Home/Western Pacific (Oral history passed on from generation to generation, we dont have written history like the West) -We also capture the 35 shades of Blackness from Blue Black (Bougainville/Solomons) to Fair due to Small Islands and Coastal People inter mixing with traders travelling through our waters sandlewood, coffee, pearls in the old days,Spices etc Highlanders dont mix too easy with outsiders that is why the Culture is still very strong across the region today  &  we are also very rich in mineral resources such as gold, nickel, cooper, manganese, oil, gas.
